The new Era comes with Danger --
I was born on March 24’Th 2017… The year is now 2036, A time of no Hope, no Prosperity. Everyone had chosen to migrate south, away from the Loyalists.
The foretold “ERA” which had come too early had drastically changed people’s lives, but not the way the “ERA” had spoken of, it was the complete opposite of it.
Those who had stayed and chosen to fight against them were either killed or taken in to be tortured. Those who escaped and survived the Loyalists, came back in such bad shape, they had to be hospitalized for weeks.
A time to think --
“And to think that the new “ERA” would save us from our fears…”
“I know right ‘sigh’ it’s what we had hoped of, there’s no way out if it”
“There may be, didn’t the prophet speak of someone who wasn’t with the Loyalist’s?”
“I’m not sure, no one has recording of the Prophet because of the electric surge between that times”
“We must hurry and get him to safety before the come, hurry!”
“I’m going as fast I can Yarian!”
“Well try and speed it up, they’ll be here in minutes!”
They just got finished packing up and the bus was about to leave when they looked up and they saw a giant dark cloud heading they’re way.
The got on the bus as quick as they could and headed out of there, I was just a baby when the loyalists came, that’s how long it has been since they’ve been on earth,
“They don’t seem like they’re from here, not one bit.”
Before my parents left to go fight in the war they told me,
“Never give up, never go down, and never let them win.”
Since then I’ve been doing my hardest staying at the top of my classes and taking other Martial art classes here and there when I have the spare time.
When the day’s start
I woke up this morning to knocking on the door, I struggled to get out of bed feeling a bit weakened; not sure why or how, but I may have been pushing myself to hard.
“I’m coming!” I yelled to the door
*Knock, knock, knock*
I picked myself up out of my bed, walking and struggling to the door, I opened the door and the sun hadn’t felt so bright in the last twenty some years, it’s always been dark and cloudy.
“Uhm, is this Mr. Yukagu, Son of Yarian Yukagu?”
“Yes, it is, what business do you have with me?”
The man wore the frontal forces dress uniform, so he was in the Army.
“Well… The thing is, you’re Father has requested you to join him in his search”
“Search what, if I may ask”
As I stepped out the door in my pajamas, I could feel a breeze, a light but delightful breeze, the smell and feeling of the good season spring.
“You’re Father only asked me to come and tell you that he requests your presence”
“Oh, so it seems he is asking me to join the Military, am I right?”
“It would seem so, but he spoke highly of you.”
I thought about it and as the man started to walk away
“I’ll think about it”
The man stepped back up to me and handed me a card with his name, address, and phone number on it.
“Call me and give me an answer”
I stepped in my doorway and into my house, closing the door behind me
Looking at the card, I turned it over and it read
“Son… If you are reading this that means that I am leaving my position in your control.”
I questioned why it said that, I don’t necessarily know why he wrote that, and that is definitely his hand writing.
I set the card down on a shelf next to my door; I walked towards my bedroom when I suddenly collapsed.
The suited man
“You… You were chosen by me to protect your world, to protect mankind, to do my bidding.”
I stare blankly at the man in white
“You have something in you, something that hasn’t been awoken yet, you are the last hope for survival of mankind. Now awaken and fall back to earth.”
I quickly woke up sweating and feeling my chest trying to get rid of the pain
“Was that a dream? Or was that real?”
I looked around wondering where I was; it looks like I’m in a Hospital, But… Who could have known I collapsed? Was it the man in the suit?
“Suddenly the man in the Suit comes walking in, are you alright Son?”
“I… I guess so, I don’t know what happened”
“From the looks of it, the Doctors said that you collapsed from exhaustion, and that mark on your chest was glowing, I’m not going to question that mark, but from over exhaustion? What could you be doing?”
“I… I’ve been training, ever since my parents left, I’ve been training to live on my own.”
“Oh, well get some rest in you, and when you feel up to walking around, let me know.”
The suited man left the room, shutting the door behind him; I lay back into the hospital bed and close my eyes. I lay there feeling the light spring breeze, listening to the birds chirping and the Cicada’s rustling in the trees outside, Suddenly I could feel a presence of someone from the window, I open my eyes and there was a Girl sitting in the window, people yelling outside, they seem to be yelling at her, I wonder why, I lay there starring at her.
The girl in the window
“Who… Who are you?”
The girl stared blankly back at me, I don’t know who she is, and I don’t know where I’m at.
The girl stepped off of the window-sill and into the room
“Sorry to have startled you if I did, I did not know you would be in here”
“What do you mean?”
“I usually sit in here and eat alone”
“Why would you want to eat alone?”
“Because I don’t like people”
“Then I am sorry for intruding on your territory, I’ll leave then”
The girl stared at me, I sat up and turned to my left to stand up, I stood up not knowing that my legs are numbed, I struggle holding onto the bed, I finally stood up normally and
the numbing went away after a few seconds.
“Now could you turn around so I may get dressed?”
The girl turned around holding her lunch box.
I walked over to a dresser that had my clothes sitting on it; I picked up my boxers and put them on as well as my pants
“Alright you may turn around”
I took off the hospital robe, grabbing my shirt off the dresser; The girl turned around and saw my chest and the mark.
“What is that mark? Is that a birthmark?”
“I’m not sure, but I guess it’s a birthmark”
I put on my shirt after putting on my belt, now I guess I’ll be headed out now.
“I… I guess you can stay and eat before you go”
“Why, I don’t have any food?”
“I… I’ll take you to the cafeteria, if you want”
"Sure, I'm a bit hungry myself though."
The girl walked past me and opened the door, turning around and looking at me
I stepped forward and the girl walked out of the room,
“By the way, may I get your name?”
The girl turned around again looking at me
“My name is,
